Meet Dr. Jennifer Mata

Pediatric Dentist

Jennifer Mata was born and raised in Houston, TX. She received her BS in Molecular and Cell Biology from Texas A&M University in 1994. Dr. Mata received her DDS from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2001 graduating Magna Cum Laude. She then practiced as a General Dentist with a focus on children's dentistry. It was during this time that she realized she wanted to further her education in the field of Pediatric Dentistry. She was accepted into the Pediatric Dentistry Specialty program at the University of Tennessee, where she began her studies in 2005. She was also Chief Resident her second year. During her specialty training, her education focused on dental growth and development, caring for the anxious child, as well as caring for patients with special health care needs. She also had the privilege of treating children at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as part of her specialty training. Dr. Mata returned to Texas where she has been practicing pediatric dentistry since 2007.

Dr. Mata is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Houston Academy of Pediatric Dentists.
